In less than a week, Taylor swift will be wrapping up the Era's tour here in Vancouver - to say I am excited is an understatement. I am a die-hard Swiftie and had the pleasure of attending her Era's Tour concert in Seattle in July of 2023 with my daughters. When Taylor FINALLY announced her Canadian dates last year, we were very lucky to get our hands on 4 tickets and I can't believe we get to go again! The bracelet making has begun, the outfits have been planned and we can't wait!
In addition to attending the concert ourselves, we are also hosting two sets of Swiftie families in our Airbnb suite for the concerts. One family is travelling from Washington and they are taking their 8-year old daughter to the show. When they booked back in August, I immediately had the idea to decorate a Taylor Swift themed Christmas tree for them, as the holiday season is upon us.
I fell in love with my "Swiftmas Tree" idea so much that I had to create one for myself as well. That means I have two trees to share with you today! If you are a Swiftie and want to create your own Merry Swiftmas Tree, I hope to inspire you with some ideas!
How to Create a Taylor Swiftmas Tree
Just like when selecting an outfit to wear to the Era's Tour, when you are decorating a Taylor Swiftmas tree, it is helpful to pick a theme. You can pick a specific album or song to help guide your decorating process OR you can just do a more generalized "Taylor Swift" theme. I did both!
Pick one album as your theme for the whole tree
One of my favorite albums is Red, and that is the Era I used to create my concert outfit. It also makes a perfect Swiftrmas tree theme, with red being such a easy and traditional holiday color.
Here is how I decorated my 4 inch small "Red" Album tree:
I used a big red bow as a tree topper, because ...bows
I made a friendship bracelet with the names of all the songs on the album and hug them around the tree. I also made both an "Era's Tour" bracelet and a "Merry Swiftmas" friendship bracelet.
I filled in the rest of the tree with red Christmas balls
I couldn't resist more small bows, just simply tied with red velvet ribbon
I used a red scarf as a tree skirt around the base. "I left my scarf there at your sisters house and you've still got it, in your drawer even now"
General Taylor Swift theme tree
For the second tree, I paid homage to the entire Era's Tour, and here's what I did:
I wrapped the whole tree in sequined ribbon
I used glittered ornaments in gold and silver-I especially loved the disco ball ones!
I made a garland of friendship beads to string around the tree, I decided to name all of Taylor Swift's albums
I used DIY plastic ornaments and filled them with beads, and then wrote "the Era's Tour" using stickers - this could be a nice way to display your bracelets from the concert, I plan on doing this for my girls and I
A few other ideas that I fell in love with online but didn't have the time or energy to create myself:
These amazing ornaments:
This giant friendship bracelet garland that you can buy off of Etsy...so cute!
There are a million different ways to decorate your own Taylor Swiftmas Tree, just have fun with it and see what you can come up with!
